INSTRUCTORS

Dana Darr

Dana DarrDana Darr is the only instructor in Valparaiso who has studied exclusively within the Iyengar system for over ten years.  She continues her training with Manouso Manos, the most senior Iyengar teacher in the country, and has recently returned from studying with the Iyengars at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India.  She is grateful to her first teacher, Pablo Jimenez, for introducing her to this most challenging gift and to Marge LaMothe for continuing to encourage her. Dana's knowledge and excellent humor help her lead students through well-balanced, challenging and meaningful yoga classes.

Marge LaMothe

Marge LaMothe has been practicing yoga for over thirty years and is easily the most accomplished yogin in the area. After flirting briefly with the Bikram method of yoga, she was introduced to Iyengar system through Chicago's Judy Landecker and never looked back. Marge has studied regularly with Manouso Manos for over ten years as well as many other Senior Iyengar instructors. Well-stuctured, methodical and undaunted in her instruction, she not only teaches, but also brings her students true understanding of the essence of yoga. An opportunity to study with Marge should never be missed!

Heather Crews

Heather Crews began practicing yoga in 2000 and studied with various teachers in Northwest and Central Indiana.  After becoming a student at Asana Yoga Center in November of 2005, she spent several months in 2006 completing a (not so easy) Teacher’s Training with Dana Darr.  Heather enjoys the focus and intensity of the Iyengar style.  Her classes are gentler in nature and tend to center on sequences that offer a therapeutic focus.  Heather has a deep interest in prenatal/postnatal yoga and yoga for children.  Her knowledge of postures, hands-on approach, and passion for teaching others has allowed her to develop a friendly, caring relationship with students.

Lori Estadt

Lori discovered yoga when she was pregnant with her son in 2007. She was looking for a way to remain calm and stay at peace during a wonderful time in her life. She then decided to continue her yoga practice after pregant. Lori received her 200 hour Yoga Instructor certification in Hatha Flow from the Center of Health and Healing in Toms River NJ in 2009 and Prenatal Cetification from Global Yoga in Chicago. Lori feels that yoga is a wonderful experience that can be shared with everyone. Lori teaches baby and me, gentle, beginner and mix level classes.

Katie Ogg

I have known Katie for as long as I have been doing yoga. In fact, I believe she and I were Pablo's only students waaaaay back when we first started in the nineties. She is an excellent instructor, calm, caring and creative. I know you are going to love her!
